Our Speaker
A native of Birmingham, Al, Andy Jones now lives in Cary, NC where he serves as pastor of Peace Presbyterian Church. Before entering the ministry, Andy worked for a couple of years ob the business-side of the music industry, in LA and Atlanta. He is happily married to Leah and they have three children (Emma, Eliot, and Daniel). he is currently devoted to Auburn Football, sals, India, not being handy, The Avett Brothers, blogging and books.
We'll be looking at "The Holy Spirit."
Why a series on the Holy Spirit?
In the words of J.I. Packer, "The Spirit, we might say, is the
matchmaker, the celestial marriage broker, whose role it is to bring us
and Christ together and ensure that we stay together... The Spirit is
here to glorify Christ and his main and constant task is to mediate
Jesus' presence to us, making us aware of all that Jesus is, so that we
will trust him to be all that to us."
The Place
Camp Greystone
is gorgeous. It is a girls camp located on a lake in the mountains of
NC. If you like fall colors, sliding down water slids, climbing walls,
kayaking, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, s'mores, and more, then this is the
place to come.
The Cost
Only $90. It covers the speaker, a bed, and all of your meals on Saturday and Sunday morning. Full and partial scholarships are available... talk to Chuck. No really, please talk to Chuck.
The People
RUF groups from all over NC, SC will be there--USC, Clemson, Furman, the College of Charleston, the Citadel, UNC, NC State, Appalachian State, Anderson College, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Erskine, Davidson, Winthrop, etc.
What to Bring
In addition to your normal weekend-trip sort of packing, make sure to bring sheets, towels, blankets, warm clothes for layering, a Bible, notebook and pen, umbrella, etc.
